When creating an email template, we have the ability to drag image content blocks in to the email template and upload images in to our email templates.
To get this started, click and drag the image content block in to the email template.
From here you can either drag and drop your image in to the greyed out image area to put it in the template, or you can click browse to look through images you have already uploaded to Lifesycle upload from your device.
Dragging and dropping from your computer is easy. Let's look at what happens when we click browse.
Once we click browse a file manager will open where we will see all the images that we have previously uploaded in to our email templates, and we can select which one we want.
We can search for a certain image using the search in the top right corner.
If you want to organise your images a little better, you can add folders by clicking the folder icon next to the search bar.
Name the folder and click the tick to add.
You can then move images in to that folder for better organisation. To do this, click the folder with the arrow inside it underneath the image you want to move.
Then select the folder you wish to move it to and click move.
To upload an image that is already existing in your file manager in to your email template, simply click the insert button underneath the desired image.
You will then be taken back to the email template with the image in the template.
To upload an image from your computer, click the upload button on the top left of the screen when you are in the file manager.
Then select the image from your device
The image will then be in your file manger, from here just click insert as before and the image will be in your email template.
When your image is in the email template, you will then have the image properties on the right.
Let's look at the image properties in detail.
First we have the width of the image. You will see that auto width will be automatically selected first. This will adjust the width of the image automatically depending on the device it is opened on.
If you untick auto width, you will be able to set the width as a percentage of the full width of the screen. You will also be able to select full width on mobile which means it will always be the full width of the email template if opened on a mobile device.
Next we have alignment, where you can shift the image to the right, left of keep it in the centre of the template.
Next we have the ability to apply effects to the image, or change the image.
If you click the 'Change Image' button, it will take you back to the file manager.
If you click the 'Apply Effects' button, it opens up a page where you can edit your image.
Next we can make the image have rounded corners.
To change all corners at the same time, click the plus sign to increase how much of the image will be rounded off.
Alternatively, you can click 'More Options' and edit each corner individually.
Next we have the 'Action' section. This is where we go to turn the image in to a clickable link, or for an action to be performed. There are several actions we can choose from.
The first is 'Open web page' a very simple tool which means when the image is clicked, it takes them through to another website. Simply select open webpage and enter in the URL of the website you want them to go too once they click on the image.
We also have the ability to 'Link file' which means when the image is clicked, a particular file you select can be downloaded to the recepients device.
To do this, click Link file.
This will then open up the file manager, where you can select the file you wish for the recepient to download, or you can add the file in to the file manager first, and then select it.
The next action we have is send email. This means that clicking the image will prompt the recepient to send an email which is pre populated with text you provide, to an email address that you provide. To do this, select 'Send Email' from the drop down and enter in the email address you wish the email to be sent to0o, followed by what you want the email to say.
The next action from the list is make call, this means when the image is clicked, the recepient will recieve an action to call a number of your choice.
To do this, select 'Make Call' from the dropdown list and enter in the phone number you want the recepient to call when the image is clicked.
The final action we can have on our images is send SMS. This means when the recepient clicks on the image, they will be prompted to send a text message which is pre-populated with the text you provide, to a number you provide.
To do this, select 'send sms' from the drop down list and then enter in the telephone number that will recieve the text message and then the body of the message.
