You can add more contacts to Lifesycle by Manually entering in contacts (copy and paste their email address for example) or uploading a CSV file.
First, open an excel file that has your contacts in it.
IMPORTANT TIPS FOR CLEANING DATA SO IT WILL UPLOAD:
It is important that the csv file only has one type of contact - all Vendors as an example. This will come into play later. You will need one file for each customer type - one file for vendors, another for landlords, another file for buyers and finally a separate file for tenants.
You should not import any contact that has declined marketing.
It is also important that you have a separate column for each of the following:
NO Mr/Mrs on one line - these are SEPARATE contacts in Lifesycle and they must have an email address.
Once everything is separated out and your data is as clean as possible, click Save As and choose CSV (Comma delimited). Make sure to save the file with a name you will remember and in a location where you will be able to find it.
Click on Contacts from the left hand menu option which is highlighted in magenta below.
Click Upload CSV
Here, it is important to pick which the type of contacts that are in the file: Vendor or Tenant or Landlord or Buyer.
We also have a tick box that reads 'Add profile to contact even if contact exists'. Ticking this box adds on the V/B/L/T to any contacts in the CSV, that are already in Lifesycle. For example, lets say Mr. Smith is a contact in your Lifesycle system and is a vendor. Then you have a CSV full of buyers, and Mr. Smith happens to be in that CSV. If you click 'Add profile to contact even if contact exists' then Lifesycle will just add on the buyer profile to the existing Mr. Smith you have in Lifesycle. So now Mr. Smith is now a vendor and a buyer.
Click CSV Upload and choose the file.
Then, click to confirm GDPR and then Save
Next, you will choose whether you would like this csv file to update the current contact information or not. Green means it will and grey means it will skip those contacts in the file that are already in the system completely.
You will also choose if you would like to create a new static audience or if you would like to add to a current static audience. Dynamic audiences such as All Buyers will automatically update when you put any contacts in the system that are marked as buyers.
The final step is to match the fields you have in your csv file to fields within Lifesycle. The first line in the csv file will be listed - in the below photo, you can see the first contact listed. In other situations, you may have the field name such as First Name or Surname listed. You simply choose the field you would like to fill in in the system from the dropdown on the right.
Click Save and the contacts will now upload. If the contacts have not uploaded within 24 hours, please contact support for assistance.
