When creating and sending a Memorandum of Sale, we have the ability to customise the MOS before we send it by removing or adding certain sections/questions.

We can also create a default MOS setup for the entire company or individual branch.

First, let's take a look at how we can edit the MOS before sending.

When in the MOS, you will see that there is an icon to the right of each question, which allows you to remove it from the MOS.

Clicking this icon on the right will remove that particular question from the MOS.

PLEASE NOTE - Removing a question from the MOS here will NOT update your defaults; it will only change this MOS.

You can also change the order of the questions by clicking and dragging the questions.

To add another section to the MOS, simply scroll down to the bottom and click the plus sign icon at the bottom of the MOS.

From here, simply write what you would like the added section to say and click Add. You will notice as you start to write, Lifesycle will search the database to see if you have added this section before, and it will give you the option to select it. If you have not used this section before, it will add it to the database for selection at a later date.

Once you have removed sections and added sections that you wanted, remember to press save.

Then simply preview/send your MOS as normal, and the Final MOS PDF will be altered accordingly.

Now let's take a look at how we can set up our default MOS for the whole company, or each individual branch.

First, go to settings >> Memorandum of Sale.

You will then come to a page where you can set up the default memorandum of sale for the vendor, purchaser, and both sets of solicitors for the whole company or for each individual.

First, you have the memorandum of sale split by vendor, vendor solicitor, purchaser and purchaser solicitor.

You can go into each of these tabs to set up the default memorandum of sales individually.

You will also see a 'Display empty fields on the MOS' button.

If this button is switched on (purple and to the right), this means that if you leave a question blank on the MOS, the PDF will still show the question, but it will have a blank space underneath it, displaying the empty field.

If it is switched off, it will remove the question from the PDF if the question has not been filled in.

If this button is switched on (purple and to the right), it acts as an override. This means you can not edit any of the other sections for any of the parties . All empty questions will display on the PDF.

If this button is switched off (grey and to the left), then this means that if a field is left empty when you fill out the MOS, the field will be removed from the PDF of the MOS.

If this button is switched off (grey and to the left), the override will be switched off. Meaning you can still go and edit whether you would like certain sections to show or not show, per section and per party (vendor, vendor solicitor, purchaser, purchaser solicitor)

If you have made edits to each individual section and then switched on the override, then the system will override your changes and show all empty fields, but it will not switch the buttons over to green (it will save your settings in case you turn the override off)

You can then select whether the defaults you are about to set are company-wide or just for an individual branch.

You will then go through each individual section of the MOS and select whether you want that particular piece of information to be shown or not shown, if the field is left empty for that particular party's MOS.

Show/Don't Show Button

If the switch is green and to the right, then that particular field will be set to SHOW. Meaning that even if the field is left empty when filling out the MOS, it will STILL appear on the PDF of the MOS.

If the switch is grey and to the left, then that particular setting will be set to DON'T SHOW. Meaning that if the field is left empty when filling out the MOS, it will NOT appear on the PDF of the MOS.

Then you will get to the property section, as this is where you can start to add and remove sections to your default MOS.

Click on the icon on the very right of the show/don't show switch in each section to delete it from your defaults.

To change the order in which the questions show, click and drage the 2 black lines on the left of the question and release when you have moved the question to where is needs to be.

To add a section to your defaults, simply scroll down to the bottom and click 'add new settings'

Then, as before, write out what you would like that particular section to say and then click add.

Then, once you have finished building your default MOS, click Save.

Once you click save, this will update all FUTURE MOS that will be created. It will not change any existing MOS.
